Trying new restaurants can be great fun. It can also be a drain on your wallet, especially if we are talking about the crème-de-la-crème of Toronto’s dining scene. Luckily for cash-strapped foodies, Toronto’s best restaurants will be offering prix-fixe menus for a limited time during the Summerlicious event, happening July 4th to 20th. Mor than 200 restaurants are participating. Here are a few near our hotel that are worth a visit:
Olio: A Mediterranean Grille
801 Dixon Rd. 416-213-7504
Take a journey through the cuisine of the Mediterranean at this casual yet refined spot. Preparing distinctive Mediterranean dishes with local and seasonal organic ingredients, Olio puts a new spin on a time-honored culinary tradition. Their Summerlicious menu features a $15 lunch and a $25 dinner, with enticing items like egg noodle sacchetti, lemon risotto and their famous tiramisu.
La Petite France
3317 Bloor St. W. 416-234-8783
Treat your special someone to a romantic meal in the lovely, bistro-inspired ambience of this modern French restaurant. Serving traditional French cuisine with a modern flair, their menu is lighter and less rich than classic French cooking, but with all the flavor and refinement. Their Summerlicious menu features a $15 lunch and a $25 dinner, with options like moules marinières & frites and Suprême de Poulet Sauce Chasseur.
Old Mill
21 Old Mill Rd. 416-2020
For 100 years, Old Mill has been delighting Toronto diners. With original flagstone floors, beamed ceilings and fireplaces, this cozy restaurant features an inspired continental menu that pairs perfectly with the live music that often entertains its diners. Their Summerlicious menu features a $20 lunch and a $35 dinner, with options like blackened bronzini fish and warm fudge brownie tarts.
